Learning and development
It’s our aim that everyone working with us should have the opportunity to develop within Castleoak to reach his or her full potential.
Staff development needs are identified on an individual basis and an appropriate programme is put together, comprising both classroom and work-based training.
Every member of staff has a minimum of ten development days a year. This is made up of seven days for professional/corporate training and other opportunities to learn, such as attendance at industry conferences and seminars, study days and events connected with professional qualifications/CPD events connected with professional memberships.
The other three days are for colleagues´ own personal development activities that are not linked to the job or the company. These days must have a community support link so that the learning experience is used to the benefit of others as well as to the individual. Examples include:
- Training for and participation in fund-raising events involving personal challenge
- Training for sports coaching and similar qualifications
- Participation in community projects
- Leadership roles in voluntary or community organisations (e.g. school governor, local councillor)
